hello just over two weeks ago i got myself a 300tdi disco showing 130k! seemed to be running fine untill the other night when i went around 2 miles from my house and had terific power loss! the engine only went to around 2000rpm and would ony do about 20mph on my limp home!
on closer inspection had it was smoking bit of black bit of blue ad was nocking (bit like a loud diesel nock) my first instinked was check turbo was all fine! then i cracked off the diesel pipes one by one and apeared to get better as #2 was cracked witch lead me to belive it was an injector!
so i changed the injestors for a recon set!
this still has not cured the proplem?
when i changed the injector i took the sound deading top off of the engine and the middle rocker cover bold was rattling around as would not thighton i took the rocker cover off and the stud had come out of the head would not tightun so put ptfe tape on when i did this and started it again it poped out under preasure with oil coming from the rocker hole! is this a seperate problem or could it be part of it any idears?
now do not no what to do bar change pump or rip the head off?
