i have been looking around for a 91/94 discovery.
i have found one that has just had a new gearbox fitted and appe ars to be in allround good order.
the only fault appears to be that the air con no longer works.
will this be very expensive to fix?
the disco is a 93 5dr model £3000. any comments.
also the owner thinks the cambelt has be changed but can't be sure how much could i expect to pay to get this done. the milage is 117k.

thanks

If owner is not sure about cam belt then I would get the job done before you bought it. If this is not an option then you will be looking to fork out upwards of £150 as its not job for the light hearted. See if you can get the garage to agree a price before work commences as it can sometimes take a lot longer than expected what with seized bolts and all!
I personally would rip out the air con and stick to ye olde heater matrix as they are pretty good and dont sap power from engine thus keeping mpg to a maximum.
You also regain glove box space into the bargain! and we all know there isnt much in the way of that on a Disco to start with!
But thats only my opinion...:p
