Hi,

just come in from the garage from over an hour of trying to get the hand throttle I bought at Peterborough together. Gave it my "standard"; strip down, wire brush, spray paint to make it look "new" before fitting onto my rebuilt truck. Anyway, has anybody else spent ages trying to get the lever back onto its little shaft? it seemed really hard as the spring in the lever is caused by a kinda offset to the shaft, but getting this back on is so difficult unless you have 100xs of really strong miniature hands! In the end I filed a little bit of the hole and use a huge pair of mole grips as a clamp to force it down whilst I tightened the bolts. Finally back together and looking good, but took much longer than expected!!

Whilst on the subject of hand throttles, could somebody send me some photos of linkages; Specifically the "clamp" that goes onto the main throttle shaft. I bought the hand throttle without linkages, I got it cheap and I thought I had loads of throttle bits at home so I could make something up, ive got enough little rods to go from the hand throttle up to the shaft, and I have a few of the standard clamps, but thinking about it; if I used one of these, it would hold the throttle bar and the accelerator wouldnt work? So is there some kinda of ratchet on it? I looked at the manual and it looks differnt from the standard linkage.

Could somebody send me a photo? Do you think its possible to make one up from the other spares I have?

Hi,

IM fairly sure I can knock one of them up looking at your photos, think I can just grind down some of the bits ive already got and make something out of all of them all together, shouldn't be too much of a problem, will have a go once I get the throttle bars on the bulkhead, sometime this week hopefully.

Thanks again,

biosbill.
