I'm looking for a disco but I'm pretty much stumped on what to pay / MPG / if parts pretty much available from breakers yards etc / what sort of milage to look for. I'm hoping to find a 95 (ish) disco for about £2500 in OK condition. is this realistic? Any ideas?

Personally, I think you're better looking for a 91-93 (200 series) Discovery at that money. There are loads at that money and vintage, so be choosey!

Expect 25 to 35 mpg from a Diesel and 15mpg to 20mpg from a V8. Check the rear of the chassis carefully and also the bits of the doors you can't see when they are closed.
