Losing oil

Hi

I have a 200TDi discovery which seems to be losing oil (1 litre in 2 weeks). There are no signs of an oil leak anywhere. No sign of water in the oil, but the water does have a milky deposit all around the inside of the pot. There has been no water loss.

The engine struggles to start in cold weather, but seems ok powerwise when warm. There is a bit of blue/white smoke when accelerating.

Any ideas??

Sounds like the head gasket may have split between an oil passage and water passage. If it has then it may not effect the performance but as you have the signs of oil in the water then it's worth getting checked.
