Do any members have any views or experience with OZ tents ?
We purchased 2 , and were surprised how bulky and heavy they were
and would need a substantial roof rack on our 90. Not much use having
a quick erection , compared with our Umbrella type used in Landrovers
Darrein Gap Expeditions . We returned them next day without unpacking
expecting under mail order consumer protection they would give us
a Charitable Youth Organisation a full refund . They replied they would
deduct a 10% handling charge , that there was a further problem
their packing had been damaged in transit back to them , that the
original tent packing boxes were marked and would make it difficult
to resell as new . They stated they would e-mail photographs
of the damage ; but to date not received , and no sign of any
refund cheque . Do members who use them find the weight and
bulk outweighs the quick erection claim ? Have any found problems
in getting a refund ?

Had one for a couple of years now and think they're great. They are long (mine is 2m) and take a ot of room. I didn't like the idea of it being stored externally especially as we use the RTT too so I hang it from the inside of the roof in that space that never gets used. I can still use the rear view mirror too. See here (http://www.landrovernet.com/forum/showpost.php?p=134250&postcount=21). I can load/unload and erect the tent on my own.

Don't know if I'd have considered one if I had a 90 though!

The traders I used were BOAB and they were a pleasure to deal with.

We have has an RV2 for about 3 years now and absolutly love it!

They are a bit bulky but won't need anymore than a pair of roof bars to support the weight. Ours went to Corsica and the apls on some roof bars without issue.

The tent itself is massivly strong, far stronger than the Kyham style day tents that LR sell.

If you bought direct from BOAB I am not surprised that the service is poor, I had a nightmare getting a basket for the tent, mainly due to them selling stock which was still in Australia.

I hate to say it, but surely you knew the size and shape of the tent before shelling out over £600 of your ventures money?

We've got the RV3. It's the best tent we've used by a long way. We will get a second one sometime and join the awnings together to create two rooms with a covered area between them. One room for SWAMBO and me, and one for the children, with a living and kitchen area between them.

It's not the actual putting and taking down of our tent that we find time consuming.
It's putting the stuff into the tent and getting it ready. Then when you come to leave the time to repack.
seemingly you don't have to do this with a Oz Tent :D :D :D
