2002 Disco II Rear Door will not open

I have a 2002 Discovery II in which the rear door will not open. The latch appears to work, as well as the actuator. Is there a way to open the door? Does anyone have a solution?

In my case I prised out the green oval badge and dosed it with WD40 then left it for 10 minutes and it was alright after.

Might be more ominous though.

A customers did this regularly, and he just shoved the key in and pushed on the mechanism up the side of the door handle itself. We doused it in WD40 afterwards and its been fine ever since.
