Well, 10 bulbs should keep you going for a while:D

The same bulbs are used in the rear number plate lamp, front side lights, side repeater lamps, also door edge and puddle lamps if you have them.
Should have got two packs ;);)

I beg to differ, but if you put 5w bulbs in the transmission you'll melt the window.
They need to be max 2w, I believe the spec is actually 1.6w.

I beg to differ, that may have been the case with the celluloid used in a RRC display, but the disco display is hard plastic.
I have done over 3 thousand miles with my "5watt" bulbs and haven't had any problems.

Also thebiglad, where did I say use 5watt bulbs. In my previous post I just high lighted the other uses for nige w bulk purchase of 5watt bulbs.
So why quote me and then beg to differ

Have to agree a little with both as I replaced one of my bulbs with a 5w and have noticed that they give off more heat and as a result will cause the plastic strip with numbers and letter to raise slightly.
As I said in my last post, less is more so if you can fine lower than 5, you will be better off.
I guess you could cause the plastic to melt but as yet, with 4k miles with my 5w bulb, no sign of burning...

"I got the two 5 watt capless auto display bulbs from Halfords they are a common bulb. The clock is a bit different they are small and have a half twist type of cap, you can get them on ebay biut if you take the bulb into Halfords or Maplin or an auto parts supplier i'm sure you will get one the bulbs are not that special."
That would be where you said 5watt bulbs. But assuming that you are right and I am wrong, I am delighted, as the 5w ones are freely available whereas the lower wattage ones are more difficult, for me at least, to get hold off.
And as for the "beg to differ" comment, I do. It's called having a different opinion, that's all. Don't get out of yer pram.

Ho Ho Ho, Again where did I say use 5watt bulbs,, I don't, I give the information that I use 5watt bulbs.
Why you beg to differ on my post advising nige w on the other uses for his bulbs I don't know.
Take your time and read the posts.:)

I do take time to read the posts, but your's are becoming increasingly incoherent.
I'm bored with this.............................................

I take it you dont like different points of view?
The Big lad lives in Sunny France and this may very well have a greater effect on the plastic - on the other hand, us in Blighty growing webbed feet dont tend to have "heat" issues.
Nige w can now make up his mind as to what he wishes to fit. Either 5w or less.
Where is Nige w...he seems to have posted this and disappeared
Nige?

Not quite disappeared ! well i have got my pack of 10x 12v 5w for under a fiver the 3w and a 2.3 w types would have cost nearer to £9.I can remember the gear selector panel being hot in the past i had thought then[wrongly] it was directly from the transmission i am guessing now its the heatt from a 5w bulb .The good news is there is no damage .Thanks for all the replies but please no falling out cheers nige

I am ice cold thanks JulesV8 It's just I don't like being misquoted.
I encourage opinions and points of view, that's the only way the job gets done in my view and I get paid.
That's the last of it. :)

http://www.consumabulbs.com/
Thought i would share the site i used to get the replacement bulbs i had never used them before but the price and delivery seemed reasonable and no i dont have any connection to this company.
Has anyone got a cheaper source[not that i expect to need any for some time]:)
