Myself and Skyline have the same question - as we've both just changed to Discovery's.
"Where is the Jack?"
I can't find it! Maybe the questions is - where should the Jack be as one of the previous 11 owners may have nabbed it...

Si,
Mine is under bonnet and front right as you stand in front of car.
Red Bottle jack, lever and wheel spanner under back seat in a plastic pouch.
Hope this helps.

I found my jack ok, it just took me a few weeks to find the wheel wrench. I eventually found it hiding under the back seat. Must say I did feel a bit daft taking so long to find it !!
Never mind got my Owners Manual now!!

depends where and wot you are looking 4
autotrader site 2nite has 15 btween 1k & 5k within 20m of sheffield.
On the subject of jacks and spanners, had new front tyres put on the other week, noticed a while later that the nuts on the front nearside were finger loose:hahaha: .
So merrrely off i went hunting for tyre spanner well theres the jack ohhh and thats what the velcro straps under the back seat are for.
So any one got any ideas where I can get a new spanner from Halfords dont sell one big enough. Also need the bar for the jack while I am at it.

Try www.ebay.co.uk
The problem with nuts coming loose is due to two things (from experience):
1. The threads are stretched on the hubs - common issue with an older car.
2. The most air-ratchets struggle to reach the torque required on a large LR wheel nut. Tighten them by hand after!
Steve
Thanks for that. tried a while ago and found nothing just checked again and there was one waiting for me.
Is any one aware of any differences in size between Alloy nuts on a Disco S1 and the standard steel nuts.
Thanks.

As far as I know it's not size that matters.... :p
Seriously, I think you'll find the chamfer (mating surface) on the nuts are different between alloy and steel wheels.
