OK,
The manual's a bit ambiguous...
It clearly states that shifting Hi-Lo should be done at virtual standstill.....
Should I have the main box in or out of gear?
I assume I should have my foot on the clutch..

Going Lo-Hi, the inference is that this can be achieved at any speed .... What's it like in reality?
Should the main lever be in neutral and my foot on the clutch?

My transfer box is ultra-stiff.
Should the lever also move sideways for a diff-lock (note this in other posts), or was this an optional extra on the S2?

Going Lo-Hi can be done at most speeds lo-hi can only be done at a stand still cos of the gears running fast in hi

My transfer box is ultra-stiff=mine is the same m8 think coz it never gets used much
diff-lock =n/a coz of TC

For the sake of the box I always change the transfer box at standstill (unless I really can't avoid it). Always do the change with the clutch in (foot down) although you may have to double it if on the move.

Diff lock was fitted in some TD5's cos the owners started asking LR to fit it again. So later TD5's may be fitted with TC & diff-lock.
