Bush Tucker Man

I put our Crusader up on blocks yesterday.
I know this is perhaps a relic of times gone by, but it won't be moving for a while & it gives the suspension rubbers a rest.
I'd been contemplating it for a while. We've got a timber reclaimation yard in the bottom of the village, I nipped in a while ago to enquire, they had some big 15inch square Oak blocks
At £4.00 a piece they looked just the job, they also looked like they'd come from the British Waterways yard across the Canal.
This facility manufactures lock gates for the north of England.
I was driving past the BW premises a couple of days ago & glimpsed in through the open door, what I saw made me turn round.
In the entrance were 3 pallets full of big off-cuts.
I came back & made enquiries explaining what I wanted & why.
"Help yourself, we just chip them up"
So 8 large blocks of Oak went into the Discovery.
Yesterday I took them & the (damn heavy) trolley jack to the caravans winter home.
15minutes later it was up on blocks, complete with a change of the 'Low Maintanance Moisture Absorbancy Material' inside.
The previous caravan was getting on a bit & the suspension rubbers were past their best, so it sat fairly low.
As we'll probably be keeping the Crusader a few years, I want to give it the easiest possible life whilst in storage.
Anybody else undertake 'blocking'/axle-stands, or am I at odds with everyone?
