2nd Hand 90 roof rack and tent?

Hi all,

Is there a good market for 2nd hand camping gear? Specifically I am looking for either a Maggiolina or Overland tent to fit on my 90 for a series of UK and overseas trips. I am also looking for a suitable rack system such as Patriot or Hannibal....

I am new to this and already spent a lot of money on the vehicle, so until i get comfortable and know what i am doing I dont see buying everything brand new as sensible.. The more i do the more i will know about the things I do and dont want on a trip from the gear i buy.

So any good places outside of ebay where i might find such items? I am sure some are purchased with good intentions but never get used.

Ebay seems to be the most populer place for them, ocasionally they crop up on the forums, but they tend to go like hot cakes when they do...

There was an article about a guy that bought one direct from South Africa, worked out about half the price compared to buying new here.....

If you see one, don't waste time going to see it, just buy it over the phone/email.
In the time it takes to go look, it'll be gone.
If you don't see buying new as sensible, I'm afraid even a good, used roof tent will seem equally unsensible.
If it's in good enough condition to be worth having you'll pay nearly new prices, and if it's being given away for a song, it'll be rotted garbage.

Ahem! Just about to stick my Hanibal roof rack up on Ebay, just writing the advert now.

It is for a 90 and came off of my 1992 D90. It will also come with 4 under slung Hella roof lights, 2x spots and 2 x fogs wired up in pairs.

We have a lot of second hand gear attached to a 110 so would be interested if there is a market for selling a ready to go camper/expedition vehicle. Does anyone buy complete set ups or generally buy all new components and do it themselves.
