Hi, all.
I was just looking at the post regarding Disco accesories. I think the brochure I was looking at was for Disco 2.
Does anyone know whether it is possible to fit (ideally genuine) heated front seat kits and parking sensors to my 96 Disco.
Any advice/ part numbers would be really helpful.
Cheers,
Chris.
Sorry for the shameless advertising.
But -
Follow the link for parking sensors from my website at
www.wheelhealers.com (http://www.wheelhealers.com)
the 1840S type are the ones that you would need.

Alyn,
Thanks for the link, not a bad price either.
Does anyone know whether Land Rover released any sensors for Disco 1's, as an accesory?
Anyone know how to upgrade the leather seats to 'heated'?
Cheers,
Chris.

;) Parking sensors should be straightforward, but dealer prices are exorbitant. Heated seats are great, first time I have had them here in wintry Scotland after three Discovery models. Problem is that even if you found set of front seats with pads in, you would have to get them wired up unless the wiring is in place depending on spec?

Be interesting to find out whether an official sensor exists for Disco 1, though (part no.?).
I have a 96 auto ES with leather seats. Not sure how I tell whether they can be upgraded to heated.
Anyone done this before?
Cheers,
Chris.

I have some heated seat covers which are quite good especially having a dodgy back. They just plug in to the cig lighter one day i'm going to run a dedicated feed and put a couple of plugs in for them.

Where did you get the seat covers? Not really what I was after, but it looks like Land Rover don't do an official upgrade, or parking sensors for the Disco 1 :-(.

The inlaws got them me from woolworths a couple of years back for Chrimbo

Hi all,
Got factory fitted heated seats in my 97 ES disco (switches are between window switches so it would be easy to check if you have two looms and plugs hiding in there), however they are not a patch on my previous cars (Subaru and numerous Volvo's), they do work though. I remember seeing an ad in a mag for Exmoor trim who had heater kits available for a Defender, so may be worth giving them a call. Hope this is some help.
Cheers

Hi Chris, I have a LR parts catalogue and there not shown either as a part or accessary. Anyway they were not around then were they.
I have now fitted them two surface mounted on the rear bumper (u can't fit four as the lights take up the space) The wire came out of the sensors at the side so I modifiy them so the wire is out of the rear then drilled two holes, the sensors have sticky tape so easy to fix and the control/beeper lays under the front seat, I didn't want to see the coloured led lights.
Well worth fitting as I didn't know where I was with the wheel in the way, alwas getting out to have a look.
My kit came Makro for £14 a bit like the JML set thats advertised now.

I bought the heater pad kit from Exmoor and fitted them to my cloth Disco seats, drilled the window switch panel out and fitted the switches where the factory switches go. Very good bit of kit, nice and warm quite quick, only downside is they are not thermostatically controlled or anything and you need to find an ignition feed (I piggy backed off the window switch supply) otherwise you could end up with a flat battery.
Fitting them was a bit fiddly as you have to strip the seats down a fair bit to stick them to the foam under the covers but there were no detrimental effects and putting the covers back on was a fairly simple if fiddly job.
Should be the same for leather seats I would imagine, only less 'give' in the material.
I have since upgraded to RR leather seats and now have the disco seats c/w heaters, loom etc up for sale...
