The 300tdi had been getting a bit lethargic over the last few weeks, it was fine bimbling around town but was struggling up the hills, maxinmum boost had dropped from around 15psi down to about 6, anyhoo, did the usual checks of the air and fuel filters and was having a look at the hoses and made a discovery (no pun ), the top intercooler hose had been rubbing against the water pump pulley and had worn a hole about 10mm in diameter in the hose  Patched it with a suitably bent piece of exhaust pipe and a couple of jubilee clips and the job's jobbed.
A mate and I replaced the cylinder head earlier this year (another story) and it looks like we didn't leave enough clearance between the hose and the pulley, we'll know next time ;)
