Yes, I know.strange question!!

I have a set of winter tires on Defender rims (from a P reg 90) and my Disco series 1 (m reg) is in serious need of new tyres. As there is snow forecast for Sturday and I have to drive to the tyre place some 35 miles away on a bald front left and "leaking" rears, can I whip off the Disco wheels, throw them in the back and use the Defender wheels and tyres to get me through the snow to the tyre place?

Cheers!

Well, assuming the Disco already has steel wheels fitted? If not then the wheel nuts wont be any use for securing the Defender rims! Alloy and steel wheels use different types of nut.

But that aside they are both the same stud pattern and interchangeable :)

NUTS!!!..lol..they are Boosts on the Disco just now, but i can take the nuts of my 90 which is being rebuilt just now..as long as no one tries to nick it I am sure the weight will prevent the wheels falling off that! :)...or i could maybe get it up on axle stands for now.

Thats has MT,s on modulars, but I am syre they would be too tall for the Disco..I think they are 265/80's

Why can't you put the disco on stands and take the wheels in the 90?

I wish!!!!

The 90 is being rechassied thanks to a failed MOT and is semi stripped down and under a pile of crap!..lol..
