Started at 6.45 this morning when while eating my brekky I noticed it was starting to snow, 20 mins later we had about 2 inches of the stuff, no landy at home because it's still laid up at the farm so I had the escort van do its usual curling stone impression down the hill from the house luckily it didnt bend a wheel like earlier in the year when it snowed  followed by very slow drive to farm as none of the roads had been gritted, borrowed the mitsibushi and came back to fetch Mrs Purp by which time gritters had appeared and roads were clear  anyway rest of day wasnt to bad until after taking a call I shut my mobile only for it to make a break for freedom bounce off the floor and dive into a tub of the thickest blackest old sump oil imaginable, luckily I saved it before it sank completely :D I blame it all on not having the landy :D

oh I know the feeling!
snow here got to work and my bus was late (I was using the spare and the heater wasn't working!) then got to my last pick up a wheelchair I opened the lift raised it to pull out the ramp and tried to lower it and tried and tried and tried! I then tried to put it away and nope! one very disappointed wheelchair passenger and cause I couldn't put the ramp away 8 muttering ladies! I rang the garage and got told wait in line as we have another 4 jobs to do!
thankfully the wife of the wheelchair passenger asked all the old ladies in for tea and cakes! so I didnt get an ear battering!
fitter came out and took the lift to bits pronounced it foobard!
we then took it back to the garage and he rebuilt it turns out the little valve that lets the lif down slowly was too small to let the oil through as it was too cold! two ajustments later and it works! good news is we got sent home early cause of the white stuff!

not just me then - due to go and see a customer this morning. Went out to car about 8.30 and after spending 10 minutes clearing the ice off try to get up the (fairly steep) drive to the road. After sliding sideways down the drive into the neighbouring farmyard  I cancel the meeting. Finally managed to get the car back onto the drive around 15.00 - It rained early this morning and it just froze about half inch thick on top of the drive - was like an ice rink

Same...spent the morning helping rear wheel drive vans with no weight in the back:rolleyes: and one guy i asked if i could help, he said no....i drove to the top of the hill and parked then saw him walking towards me "actually......":D ended up taking a few boxes down the hill to his van. Then tonight i've been trying to get a merc that parked on the vistor bays out front - on a ever so slight slope! can't be more than a degree or two to no avail...cleared the snow out the way...spinning wheels - went and pinched Lewises waffles...they slipped on the ice that had formed just after i'd cleared the snow way:( its not moved far:rolleyes: and i've left the landy up here as there a hill down to the car park and i don't wanna be stuck down there:rolleyes: amazing how many cars were still there at 10am this morning;)

:biggrin:she started first turn this morning:biggrin: I've not been able to sleep much so got up early and went out to see. She started without a splutter, well proud given i was thinking the unthinkable 10 days ago after the problems i'd had! Oh and something i hadn't thought of as i was deicing the windscreen...that there was ice on the inside:eek: wondered why the deicer didnt appear to be melting it all:rolleyes: anyway safe journey everyone!! We're driving two tonne of metal on an ice rink today:eek:
