Hi, this is my first major post since I signed up.
I have noticed that there appears to be a lot of posts relating to leaking steering boxes on the discos.
Mine has a leak, but not in the places mentioned in some of the other posts.
I have traced the leak to the top cover of the box, the one with the 4 bolts and adjuster. The leak is ousing out of the seam.
It this plate meant to have a gasket as I cannot see one but then it may be compressed. I have only had the discover TD5 (2000) for 3 months and only just noticed the leak, which is losing quite a bit of fluid.
Can any advise of any easy way of getting the under engine splash guard out, I had to break mine in two before I found the inspection cover in the offside wheel arch.
Does anyone make a 2 piece splash guard to replace the original.
Hopefully someone will be able to help on the above issues
