Going to look at discos

Going to look at a couple of td5 discos in the morning and wondered if anyone has got any tips on what to look for? always done defenders so have no clue about discos! am I right in thinking the ECU is under the bonnet?
they are 2000 and 2003 models. any common faults I should look for?

Hi,
7 seaters=air suspension unless converted.
2000 model defeats tax increase.
I have '99 td5s, 104k miles, no real problems, just check all the chassis,I mean ALL THE CHASSIS, for RUST. Bodywork generally better than 200 & 300 TDI's. Check the ECU plugs nearest the wing for oil discharge from the injector loom.

Check that difflocks and low range work properly (if its never been offroaded these could be stiff)

Rust (anywhere really - especially chassis and boot floor)

Other than that, all the usual stuff like oil in water, water in oil, smoke, etc.
