Glovebox wont close

I have been sorting a few things on my disco, but have run into some bother with the glove box. How on earth does the glovebox catch/light assembly fit in place. Its just sitting in the glovebox at the moment, no screws or clips are evident.

Should have noticed the bungy strap holding it shut :rolleyes:

The catch on the lid catches on to a bracket held by two screws from the top of the opening just infront of the lamp, it hangs down to connect with the hook on the lid catch.

Let me guess, the bungy is hooked onto the passenger side dash grab handle? That's where mine's hooked onto as well.........

I used it to hold the passenger door shut when putting it on the low loader, thats when i noticed the glove box wouldn't close :D

I remember a couple of points from mine that may help.
- you can drop the glove box right down only after you pull up the retaining arm against its spring, and back thorugh the slot in the dash.
- you need to do the above to be able to get at the latch screws.
- the screws/latch have some freedom in positioning them (slots or oversize holes), so that you can get the correct position left-right. The position is critical to ensure that the latch works.

I was wondering how to get the box right down.. For future reference my head does not fit in a disco glovebox!

Ok well Upon further investigation the Catch is still secured to the metal brack using its two screws.. the metal bracket however is not connected to anything... I think its snapped something off as it has no fixtures on it and I still can't get my head in for a good look.. Digital Cammera tonight maybe!
