Hi

I need help! I have a water leak in the rear of my 99 Freelander, after checking the usual suspects (door seal and trim accross the top of the door) I have removed the interior side trim of the boot and can see water is coming over the top of the wheel arch inside the bulkhead. Does anybody have any ideas of what the source could be? Plus my alarm is now going off, I assume that this may be the result of internal moisture affecting the volumetric sensor?

A previous post by another member stated.....(search for it under "water leaks")

i used to work on the freelander water test at the factory and most of the time if the locker box was wet it was a leak from around the fuel filler neck not the rear door seal, best remove the rh rear 1/4 trim and get the hose on it to see

Good advice?

Thanks for that I will check, although some water does come in from the right hand side, the majority of the water is coming in from the left side, in all enough to completely fill the locker box and have had to buy new boot carpet. The leak is not a product of the car being driven in the rain, a visit to the car wash resulted in soapy water in the bulkhead which then overflowed into the boot area. Somebody once mentioned to me that it could be a result of the drains from the sunroof being blocked, but I do not know what route the drains take and are not blocked at the sunroof end, does anybody know if this is possible?

thanks again for your advice
