3000rpm + flat spoting

I have an x reg 2.0ltd td...had an intermittant flatness above 3000rpm, notice management light on/off --- took to a bosch dealer, he says no fault in memory and got disinterested.......they tested the car an it did go flat but they say no engine light came on.....I am thinking tank lift pump....as a fuel starvation cause/effect.........any other idea's welcome.

2.0td, so its an L series ? if so it doesn't have a tank lift pump just the single pump on the engine, which is a very reliable one, but it dosen't mean it's not to blame.

Is the Turbo and its hoses healthy ?

It kicks in around 2800rpm and without it a 2.0 L series has the pulling power of a hairdryer..

Is there a "sucking/whooshing" noise when you hit 3k that could indicate a split hose which is quite common ?
