I’m mid way through the arduous task of changing the heater matrix on my 1999 V reg Landrover Freeelander but have come up against one of those decisions that past experience is useful. It appears most of the cheaper (£65) heater matrix end caps and pipes are aluminium whereas the more expensive £260+ are copper. The original was also copper but this doesn’t mean anything. Anybody got any advise on which material type to go for..?

Copper will probably last longer and is slightly stronger

I guess I was also thinking along the same lines of copper lasting longer than Alu. But the cars done 142K so I'm sort of guessing something much more mechanically fatel will happen to it before it needs a new radiator. Even if it can mange 70K I'll be happy.
