Hi, I just replace a power steering pump in a 97 land rover discover I. I still have no power steering. What I would like to know is what the output pressure is for this pump. The pump part number is ANR2157.I ordered this part from the UK so returning it would take time. Would like to eliminate the pump first.
I also noticed that when you open the bleeder valve at the gear box nothing comes out of it. Is it possible that I am running the pump backwards. If anyone has a diagram of a 4.0L serpentine belt would also be helpful. Any help would be appriciated.
Thanks again, Adam

Can you clarify what vehicle you have, please.
1997 Disco in UK is Disco 1 300-Series fitted with 300TDi or 3.9 V8 Petrol (with Hotwire Injection system and a serpentine multi-V drive-belt).
The 4.0 Petrol engine (same displacement and a serpentine multi-V drive-belt but Thor Injection system) was fitted to Discovery 2 as an alternative to the TD5.
The ANR2157 PS Pump is for the 300TDi.
Both 3.9 V8 (D1) and 4.0 V8 (D2) use ERR4066 PS Pump. You may have the wrong one there!

Thank you for the info, I will call the people that I bought the ps pump from and clarify if it is the correct one. I also tried to do a pressure test on the high side of the pump and , I get zero pressure. Although the pump seems like it is pulling the fluid not pushing it to the gear box from the pump. Look like the rotation is wrong.
