No doubt this one has been done to death, but can anyone give me the lowdown on what's good/bad about them? Do they do what 'they say on the tin', or has anyone had any problems with them such as engine over-run or the engine management warning fault light, coming on?
Ta.

The product is winging its way to me as I write. I'll see if it does what it says it does.
I bought a chip off Ebay about 3 weeks ago and fitted it last Saturday. It wasn't a great experience. At first the engine seemed a bit smoother, however soon the warning light came on to tell me there was a fault in the system. Then when I turned the engine off, it kept running for a few seconds after I'd removed the ignition key.....not a good sign. Talking to Ron, from the above site, he seems a knowledgable chap, so I feel more confident. I'll post my experience with them (If some one hasn't already)

Hi Col,

Which one did you get a Synergy 1 or 2. I have yet to get one as I have only just bought the Freelander and want to give it a full service before I try to Chip it.

I understand that it's important to change the Filter in the oil breather before you try chipping and it pays to clean out the EGR unit as well as these will stop some of the smoking when you chip.

Let us know how it goes.

Hi Pete,
I too am a new Freelander owner ('04 TD4), it has large miles so, after speaking to Ron (the bloke flogging the synergy) I have plumped for the Synergy 2. Mine has just had a service and I intend to fit an EGR bypass, or blank it off completely (Favourite amongst the wise). I find it strange that you can buy (From main LR supplier) blanking plates for the TD5 Discovery, but they're not available for the TD4, their head of service said he makes his own. Now there's a good business for someone.;)
I'l post the mods, and results, when I'm done.

cheers,
Col.

I suggest you check E-bay. I just bought a purpose nade EGR blank and fitted a Diesel Tuning UK Ltd Eco green box from them. They are very helpful, instructions were a doddle and it took 10 minutes to fit.:) No wires to cut just plug and play.
Item number for EGR Blank is 230316082114 seller I.D is katezet (http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/katezet). Purpose made, includes new gasket and just bolts straight on.

Well got to go I am off to play in my Flying Machine!!!!:D

If I read it right that's the EGR bypass not blanking plate, and that's the one I've ordered.:)
