I'm hopping to do some travelling this year in the disco and with the misses but need some help on trying to keep the disco or the tent warm.
The misses suffers from Raynaud disease (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raynaud%27s_disease) (I added a link just in case you did not know what it is) so a big warm sleeping bag and hugging is not all ways the answer.
I was thinking of a small oil heater or something like they use in trucks. Night storage heaters, i think thats what they are called.
any ideas or advice?

I see this is an old thread...but anyways...PLEASE , PLEASE PLEASE...NEVER have a naked flame of any kind inside a tent.... I saw two people get pretty badly burned in Russia after their tent caught fire....Better to get warm around a camp fire , then get inside a good army arctic sleeping bag...For lighting ,use only battery powered lamps...
Crikey, someone else with Reynauds! I have this too & I can confirm it is bloody horrible. October to February I can guarantee I cant feel my toes or my index fingers.
Any info on keeping warmer would be fantastic
In the colder months I have boot warmers that I wear all the time, they are like in soles but they have a cable attached & a rechargeble battery pack that clips on the back of your boots. Got those off ebay. If camping in the cold etc, I take hand/feet warmers that I get from muy local ski shop.Theyre just small sachets that you chuck in your socks & gloves & they gradually heat up & throw them away when they go hard.

I am another one.. As is my dad and sister. The only time it really bothers me is when im trying to do engine work on a cold day as my hands become useless after only 15 mins outside. Its usualyl worst if my hands get wet/damp so my main issue is keeping my hands dry and covered up, even with latex gloves at a bare minimum as they do help.
WHen camping I now sleep in the truck as at least that way there is some warmth and im off the ground. Its then a sleeping bag, duvet and all sare jackets and stuff thrown on top. Keeps me nice n toasty :) Oh and when its really cold I sleep with my hat on :)
has anyone tried aspirin on a daily basis?
my doc recommended to but it didnt really make a difference; well it works for my mum
