Just found out that both sun roofs leak bad are they just crap???

just seems problem after problem its £700+ to sort out a sun roof and its both of them

There's loads of info in the various LR Forums and www on how to do repairs to stop the leaks. It' a common problem you are not alone :)

Try renewing the sunroof seals, only about £15 each from ebay (Peter Scott). If that doesn't make much difference have a look at:-

And Vaseline around the glass seal seems to work.

Hi Disco71, yes they are crap, however that doesn't mean that they have to continue to leak.

The first thing to do is to open and if poss (being a tdi 200) remove the glass panels so that you have good access to the rubber seals.

Once removed you will be able to check the seal for damage and importantly, any build-up of crud/green mold stuff. I washed mine with a sponge and shot soapy water to get them good and clean. Also clean the glass panel.

Once clean apply a good smear of vaseline on the rubber seal where it will meet the glass panel. This helps with sealing and stops the green stuff building up again.

Now test to seee if they hold out water - if yes great!!! If no, the next step I would suggest is to replace the seals, as previously stated available from Ebay about £15 a piece.

If that doesn't work, seal the outside frame to roof joint with Sikaflex or similar, NOT bathrooom sealant, it wont last five minutes.

If THAT doesn't work - DUCT TAPE OVER THE BÄSTARDS !!!!!!!

The previous owner of Wend's Tdi 300 manual, "Dora", went for bathroom sealant - "NICE" - not!!!!
