Hi guys

I have just fitted a britpart winch bumper (same design as scorpion) on my disco 200 and now i'm thinking of getting a steering guard.

I've seen quite a few designs and shapes but most aren't compatible, either interfiering with the fittings of the bumper or with the winch tray. Can maybe anyone who had the same issue send me some pics or links of his to get an idea of how it should be done... i might get one done, not necessarily buy a ready made one.

thanks

It depends why you want the steering guard, but in my experience the big 'flat plate' design that drops away from the bumper, back towards the axle at 45ish degrees whilst looking very nice and purposeful actually ends up as a plough/anchor especcially in deep mud.Im currently running a slightly modified (beefed up)genuine item(the 3 inch round tube type) and have never bent a drag link, and Im not known for being shy as to where I put the disco and what I need to knock down to get there!

Well... i dont regularly abuse it... just wanted some protection for that occasional greenlane... no offroad challenges planned

...and at the same time gain 2 more recovery points then

Iirc britpart do a copy of the scorpion 'flat plate' item with recovery points? should work with your bumper?
