If you haven't been following the Africa section of the forum (link here) (http://forum.landrovernet.com/showthread.php?t=124382), you wouldn't know that we are planning a forum member's trip in April.

Would you like to join us? We already have two forumeers coming over, Roger Whittle and Andy Deaves. They joined us in 2007 for a trip to Lesotho, and this one promises to be even more enjoyable.

Please feel free to PM me for details or if you have specific questions.

I want to point out that this trip is in no ways a commercial venture.

The basic itinerary is as follows: (see here for maps and other details) (http://forum.landrovernet.com/showthread.php?t=124382&page=4threadcount=68)

7th April we depart from Johannesburg. We go through Zululand, stopping at Isandlwana and Rorke's Drift to wonder upon British defeat and British victory.

Then we proceed to the coast, and up into Mozambique through pristine beach areas. Across the ferry at Catembe, through Maputo, and up to Xai Xai. We then go up through to Praia do Zavora where we spend a few days snorkelling on the small coral reef, eating far too much fresh fish and shellfish, exploring some of the lagoons etc.

We then exit Mozambique into the Kruger National Park, and spend a few days on animal safari in the park.

Then it's back to Johannesburg around the 21st April.

The only major expense for UK forum members is getting here. Air tickets range around 500 pounds. Expenses while over here are very reasonable. We will divide the cost of fuel, food and accommodation equally between everyone on the trip. In comparison to UK prices, it's very inexpensive here. For example, camping will cost between 2 and 10 pounds a day. Last time we visited Mozambique, we bought enough fresh barracuda and crayfish (straight off the boats) to absolutely STUFF 16 people for around 2 pounds each. We had a long, boozy lunch at a restaurant in Inhambane, with beers, chicken, fish, calamari, liver, chips, salads etc. for around 3 pounds each.

So, if you're interested in joining Roger and Andy on a Land Rover trip of note, now's your time to speak up. :p

Hear are a few photos to whet your appetite...
