Hi,

Long shot as I guess lots of people want these, but hopefully somebody will have some they dont want!;

I want some of the military towing rings for the front bumper? (like the ones in the photo)

Would also like a towing jaw for the rear cross member (also like the one photo'd)

Budget is tight ;)

Thanks in advance, can pay via paypal instantly....

Herehttp://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Towball-Universal-Tow-Ball-Pin-TowHitch-Tractor_W0QQitemZ120316067928QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK _BOI_FarmingEquipment_RL?hash=item120316067928&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72:1701|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318 is a tow pin thing and ball but it only tows 1.5ton:confused: or you could have a look for a dixon bate or get a NATO hitch like so (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/UNUSED-NATO-TOWING-HITCH_W0QQitemZ250369026892QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_C arsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item25036902689 2&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72:1701|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318)

for the front things a quick search finds these (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Land-Rover-Series-Recovery-Rings-Ex-Military_W0QQitemZ190285444174QQcmdZViewItemQQptZU K_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item19028544 4174&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=72:1701|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318)

those d shaped towing eye ring things either come in two sizes or they dont fit defenders.
ive got one on my 90 and although two holes line up for the bolts the other two are around 1/8th inch out.

im looking for another one if anyone has one going spare.

Poss true,

the ones on the Def above are just the two bolt fixing ones - lightweight perhaps?

More of a hole for a shackle pin than a D-ring.

those are lifting eyes , you would be barmy to use them for recovery or towing.

Hi.

Thanks all for your posts.....ive arranged to buy some of the rings for the front bumper from stevehow109 (thanks!) so I dont need those anymore...

Was kinda looking for a cast towing jaw, not the folder steel type...what capacity are these as the ones I could find on ebay where 3.5ton (those being the cast ones)

I understand there was a hot debate a little while back about these things, and if you havent noticed ive been using for careful words to describe them, so as not to start another debate.....the way I understand it is that the D-ring thingies with 4 holes can be used for bridal recovery, whilst the more square, two bolt mountings are for lifting...so buy buying these I think im doing the right thing.
