hi not sure how much help it is but im running a 2.5 petrol in my l.wt ffr and i had to run a 12v starter on it, may not be ideal but been ok so far.

Interesting! Had not thought of that - does it crank fast? I wonder what the actual difference in between the two...

hi mate, think i used it for about a year before i got a 90 and it hasnt been used much since as it hasnt been charging properly, but it was fine in that time, it does crank faster, but my l/wt used to start straight off, if yours takes a bit of cranking to start then it may not last as long. if your really stuck then least itll get you back on the road again even if its for short term.

I removed it from my engine when I installed the V8.. never gave me a single problem, its very clean, and works perfectly! Just hanging onto it till someone needs one.. PM me if your interested!

Can't help with the starter other than I also have fitted a 12v starter to a 24v system, worked o.k.
Also I have a 24v alternator if ever you need one.
