Hi there,

Got my disco serviced the other day and after much work and many mnay pounds all seemed well. However it now seems to be leaking oil all over the drive! Thought it was maybe a loose filter/sump plug atc but they seem fine so after cleaning up under the engine i can't trace the leak but it appears after i have driven the vehicle and i think it could be from the bottom of the front diff. Can this be fixed at local garage, will it be expensive?!!!!!

Any help always apreciated. Cheers.:)

If they changed the engine oil, it's possible that there is some residue of oil sitting on top of the diff casing..... give it a good clean and then see if it carrys on....

they might have changed diff oil and not tightened drain plug properly. Take it back and ask em to look at it.

Mine has also sprung a leak but having crawled under and more importantly investigated the colour of the oil, I found mine to be engine oil (brown) not the redish colour of ATF (gearbox) or EP90 (diff).

The meak appears to be coming from the sump...all the bolts are "wet" so I'm going to get the torque wrench onto them to see if they need a "tighten-up" and if its still leaking, might have to take the sump off and place a new 2mm bead of white Hylosil silicon sealant (as precribed by the manual).

Anyone know is this is a hard job?
On the plus side the front end of the chassis is getting a nice coat of preservative oil :D

Any tips on this job?
