If you need a J**p for thursday, go and buy one, if on the other hand you need the Landy for thurs then maybe you could buy a new keyfob from a dealer and get it re-programmed?????
;) Hope you get it sorted.

Know anyone who deals in electronic repairs locally? may be able to fix 4 u. Managed to repair my 200tdi fob a couple of years back when it stopped working, similar problem....got one of those little button switches and replaced the duff one, difficult but not impossible........

We don't like our Land Rovers being refered to as J**ps, they are far better than that.

Yeah, tired, old, worn out rusting heap of unreliable sh** it may be but it still ain't a bl**dy J**p :D
I'd be tempted to try a repair myself, I reckon main dealer prices may be more economical to buy a (shudder) J**p

Yes sure is not a jeep :eek::eek: LAND ROVER you see so many silly wanna be 4x4s on the road lol just go to the dealer and pay dealer prices if not man down the back street .
I had the same problem last year. Got stuck in town with my youngster when the fob finally gave up the ghost.
I managed to hold the buttons and bits together and bridge the contacts with whatever I'd got in my pockets to get in and drive to my local specialist.
I'd tried the ritual of turning the key in the lock as per handbook .... didn't work.
I think it cost the thick end of £100 for two fobs and getting them programmed -maybe a bit less, I can't remember exactly.
See if you can work out where the wiggly amps need to flow use paper clips or whatever to help them on their way, you may need to grow an extra hand for this.
Give it a try,
Alyn

do you not have the emergency key access code??
would over ride the alarm/immobiliser and allow you on your way

Not got the EKA code! i searched the "landy" incase it was there!! i tryed bridging the contacts on the fob where the button used to be and got nowhere. lol
But im towing it to the garage 2morrow! getting a fob programmed for nothing!! which im well happy about as im completly skinto!!
Another question though! how the hell do you remove the rear diff drive flange on these 300tdi? my 200 was a 27mm nut and split pin! which was easy to remove but i dont understand this 300 one.
