300tdi 2nd gear grinding

as above just started to get a bit of grinding going from 1st to 2nd gear :confused:
but ok going down the box and it only does it if im a bit liveley on pull off ie 3000 to 4000 revs in first then change to 2nd. any advice plz

seems to be fairly standard .
tis on my r380 box . i find that a short pause in ' neutral ' between 1st and 2nd helps.
tis a pig sometimes when that pause makes the motor want 1st again - ie up steep hills .
an odd one , coz i'm more used to it happening when changing down to 2nd in other l/r . Would imagine that double de-clutching but without the throttle blip might help.

mine does this too :biggrin:, as you say, a slight pause seams to help.

Or you can double declutch and never crunch again, a good method to use when revving a bit higher.

I did about 30k in mine,double declutching.mind you I was brought up on crash boxes,Doesnt really seem worth the agro of changing boxes just for that little bit of patience,I waited til the transfer box disintegrated then changed it all,its heaven now
