TD4 increase power

Hello everyone.I am new to this forum.Some months ago I bought a 2006 TD4 5 door sport model.I live in Malta but I bought the car from UK.The car is great and I am a very proud owner of this freelander.I would like to ask if there is any possibility to increase the power of the engine.Sometimes I feel it quite slow.I feel a bit lazy on the acceleration.Here in Malta we have short distances so top speed is not an issue,but when trying to over take another car it takes some time to accelearate.I know the car is a bit heavy. By the way the box is Auto/tiptronic.I ve been told to fit an electronic chip but it tends to smoke quite a bit.Is there any other solution?Thanks.

Hi.I was browsing ebay and I found a performance chip from King Quick.It is for aTd4 freelander.Can anyone give me some advise about it? Will I make the right choice if I buy it? Someone told me that it will start to smoke too much with a chip.is that true?Many thanks for your help.Regards
