Your support for the front of the rear diff is knackered and will need to be replaced.
Not a difficult job.

I've been trying to do this change on my L/2000W Freelander. I actually set out to change all three diff mounts.

I changed the driver side one easy. The one on the passenger side I cant get my ratchet spanner on to, 'cos the exhaust is in the way. The front one is easy to access, but the bolt has decided it's not going to release it's grip on the nut attached to the mount's housing, no matter how much I force the socket spanner...

Any suggestions anyone?

Ahh,mines making a very slight knocking sound when pulling away, but it seems as if its coming from the middle of the car.Its just a faint clunking but its definately there. Is this the same prob?Sounds like its coming from around the gearstick area, very technical i know. Many thanks,Steve
