******ed ECU Pleeease help ???

Dear all 2000 Diso TD5 ES

Hoping & praying some of you propper Landie boys could help me ?
Saw on a thread that if my baby's been underpowered to have a look at the red wiring loom on the underside of the ECU for oil !!! Which I've done & yes it was covered in OIL & so was the plug. I've cleaned the plug up pretty well & gotten as much as I could outta the ECU unit , put it all back together, reconnected the Neg/earth battery terminal etc.
But now when I've gone to start the Dash has lit up like the starship Enterprise it wont start & my hazard lights are blinking ???? Do I need to reset something or can anyone offer me some advice for "dummies" like me!

H Skippy, I don't know why all lights etc are flashing, but you can get a new Injector loom off eBlag for about £25. I'd try that first before going to any further trouble. It is easy to replace. Just take off Engine cover(3 bolts) , Rocker cover ( a few more!) ,and replace loom. Hopefully that should solve your problems

Thanks for the reply & yes I'll be sorting the harness hopefully this weekend if I can get the part, Now i'm more worried about the flashing hazards & she's not starting now ! do you think I could have busted the ECU somehow cleaning off the oil ?

I suppose it is possible. Do you think the oil got into the ECU? Someone more knowledgeable than me will no doubt be able to offer sensible suggestions:o

nay , it the loom, or a loose contact, could try electric contact cleaner or brake cleaner spray instead of WD40 to flush the oil
