Hi all can anyone help help. I just got around to looking at my problem with my turbo (checking pipes etc) on one of the 2 pipes coming from the turbo boost valve is a filter (glass see through type) the pipe from the valve is on to one end but it is not connected on the other can anyone tell me should there be a pipe on the other end as i cannot see one that as fell off ( well without stripping things apart,looked in the manuel and their is a picture of it but cannot tell if a pipe is fitted to it.

The little filter should only have a pipe connected to one end of it. It filters the air coming in to the vacunm pipes.

A couple of checks that may help.....
you can bypass the solenoid to test boost control operation when under the car.
disconnect the vacuum hose that comes from the vacuum reservoir from the boost solenoid.
now with the engine idling, swap it on to the connection on the turbo speed control actuator, in other words bypass the solenoid.
you should see the actuator move the speed control linkage on the turbo and hear a slight change in the exhaust note. this will prove that the turbo vanes are free.
with all connections back where they belong if you look through the right front wheel arch you should see the linkage move then return when you momentarily floor the throttle.

Thanks i will try that to ,that valve is not cheap to just stick one on for the sake of it
