So.......bought a new boot floor for 57 squid ....days work we thought, including a bit of body mount patching up.

Hmmm.........a 12 hour day and a 10 hour day later (yes 22hrs:eek:), myself and my very talented mate got it finished. Glad he is a good friend.

Starts with us fabricating the body mounts, then making a bespoke replacement for a magical dissappearing body crossmember, followed by a tad of chassis web fabrication and finishing with ........FINALLY GETTING THE FECKING BOOT FLOOR IN!!

WHY OH WHY DO WE ALL GO THROUGH IT??.............I've been here before (RRC/S3), but do I ever learn??....do I heck as like! Definately got the disease!......I love 'em more each time they break my heart/wallet/marriage......lol:D.

Cheers for listening.

Kev:p

P.S. A shameless plug for my mate Mark, if you need any work doing (mechanical or welding), he's got a garage in Hillmorton Rugby called Spannerz. Let me know I'll send you his details (well, it's the least I can do for him after the help he's given me...bless):)

Your mate's a bit tasty with the old fab/welding work isn't he??

Nicely done guys, very nicely done.

I assume it's nice been slapped with all the rust-prevention products know to man???

Cheers for the compliments:).

Don't worry about the rust proofing.......2 gallon of Black Waxoyle in every concievable knuck and cranny.:D

Oh and the fuel tank was in situ the whole time, which we managed OK, just be careful with the air chisel..:D...also we used a thin Abestos cement sheet (old school lab one), when welding the rear cross member.
Got a bit tense a few times though.
If I was to do it all again, I would remove the tank.

Cheers

Kev:)
