I've been looking for a particular 16" steel wheel to throw on my disco but don't know the name of it. i'll post a picture to show which one it is and if any of you could help me out in finding where to pick one up. Theres a place out here in california who has a set but they said they wanted $360 a wheel!!! Too rich for my blood. I'm hopin they're a little easier to come by across the pond and would be willing to ship.
Thanks in advance.
(the wheels are fully covered with no holes or spokes of any kind.)

I ordered a set of 5 wheels in the ANR1534PM, and as soon as i did, some hot shot over there updated the price and site to show a 164 pound a wheel!!!! can you believe that?! Hows that for running a business, advertise at one price. then once an orders in and you know what your customer wants, jack the price up to almost 200% the original value!!! yikes

ANR4636PM are welded construction and only 5.5" wide, whereas ANR1534PM are riveted construction and 6.5" wide.
Check the size (width) of tyre that you intend to fit and then check with the maunufacturer what width of rims are suitable.
Most (if not all) Disco alloy rims are 7" wide: That's a bit of a clue!

yeah, i believe i got the part #'s mixed up there on the last post...i've noticed that all my posts have a very long lag time (hours:cool:) from when they actually get typed...so it's been difficult to post what i intended to post in a timely fashion; and now i rant.
anyhow, yes...6.5 is actually very suitable for my needs...7 and even 8' width alloys are not the best suit for the 235/85r/16's i'm runnin on them now. however, as cheesy as it may be, ascetically, i like the 1-ton and all it has to offer much, much more.
Do you guys know if they're manufacturing the genuine wheel anymore or are they starting to make knock offs or "take offs" of the wheel. at lrseries.com, i ordered a set of five, and within the same day they raised the price on the wheel from 99.99 pounds to a 164.99 pounds!!!! what a way to runa business eh? go check it out for yourselves if you dont beleive.....

so whats the deal with this? why so much more expensive? in this tough economy...shouldn't we be seeing rebates!!! lol
Best!

Seems as though we've met our match.
Craddock can no longer get them from their supplier at that price. They are now selling them for 166 pound!
I'm wondering if this is my only option.

I have a set of steels kicking about at work that are solid,ie.with no holes or slits in.
I havent seen a set like them before, although Im almost certain they are only 5.5j.
Will check tomorrow and take a couple of pics, see if anyone can identify them

Just found this thread whilst searching for info on these wheels. If anyone is still after new ones www.brit-car.co.uk have genuine ones for £166 but they also have pattern ones for £59.

Does anybody know what size tyres will fit these rims? I'm assuming 7.50s will be fine as the rim is 6.5 inches wide.
Also I'm considering getting them for my Series III SWB. Does anyone know if the standard wheel studs would be suitable or would I have to factor in buying new ones?

I went to LW Vass (http://www.vass.co.uk/) a few weeks ago looking for ANR1534 rims, they have hundreds of ex MOD so they are the real thing. The down side to them is that they are being stored out side so there is some surface rust on them and they are all matt NATO green in normal military flaking finish;) but for the price a bit of elbow grease with a wire brush and the paint of your choice is ok in my book.
PS thanks CCKW353A1 for pointing them out.

You could try contacting Foley Specialist Vehicles (http://www.foleyspecialistvehicles.co.uk/) - they've rebuilt loads of Rapier 130's as Campers, Expedition Vehicles, Etc... They may be able to sell you some good take-offs
Some of the Rapier 130's (especially the USAF ones) had done hardly any miles when they were sold off.

Good deal guys. I'm going to look into those two. Terry over at Vass was helpful and I'm just waiting back on his reply.
In the states more than a few guys use Rustoleum paint for their alloys to get that matte black finish...so we're real accustomed to it:) And for the price..not bad for a nice wheel. Now shipping might be the deal breaker..we'll see. I'm waiting to hear back.

I have a set of (6) FC 6.5l x16 rims 543384 for sale on ebay UK at mo , they will fit a disco 1 hub no probs ( I own a 1990 V8 from new) but with standard suspension a 235/85 r16 is too big . I am selling as I have gone to 8x16 on my110 with 285/75r16 BFG MT . The FC rims have inset so that the inner edge is about 1" further out from the diff this was to improve turning circle when fitted with 900x16 tyres on leafsprung models HTSH
ps contrary to general opinion they work perfectly OK tubeless, as I have run them so for best part of 30yrs without any probs apart for one that had a slow leak from a rivet and that was easy to fix , and thats out of a total of 4 sets on various vehicles. Including lowering pressures for sand use :)

Not interested but thank you.
I think I may have changed my mind on the size wheel I need. I'm now looking for the same wheel but in 5.5" x 16" Part# ANR4636. Any leads on this one. I'll check with Vass as well but know they're closed through monday.
I think the thinner rim will fit well to my BFG 235/85R16.
thanks once again.

No probs. just mentioned it. Does your disco have a lift kit or a body lift ? If not your 235/85r16 will not fit even on the 5.5 x 16 The fc rims would be a better choice , not least from the turning circle reason . You should be able to find normal lwb rims in the states. Save quite a bit on shipping .
