Probably got a broken top plate or spring, the stick should lie naturally in line with 3rd and 4th.

Hi

This is the first job I did on my TD5. The bias plate is about £5. The centre console has to come out but it is an easy job. Just 4 screws. The whole job is easy. Just take your time.

A good tip is to drive the car a bit before you put the centre console back in. It is a bit trial and error to get the new plate adjusted right so that the 2nd to 3rd change is sweet on the move. A slight adjustment can make all the difference.

Get yourself a RAVE workshop CD. Download from greenoval or ebay. It's all in there.

Doing this job will be a good ice breaker for all the other issue that will crop up.

Cheers, Andy

If I might suggest, get the plate AND the two springs before you start the job as the problem can be a broken plate or a broken spring.

Total cost from a Land Rover dealer? About £7 !!!!

Easy job, just a bit fiddly after you've put the first spring in place and trying to get the second one done, no biggy though.

Cheers
Dave

If I may, my advice would be to worry about one thing at a time, get that sorted then go onto the next.

Graunching will be straightforward to fix, as will the swaying about - no worries, no big deal.

Get you 'box done then we'll sort out the rest and she'll be running like a bird soon :D:D:D
