View Full Version : sound proofing?
dear all, i own a discovery XS V8i, 1997, i wonder if anyone had ever installed complete sound proofing for the interior. note that all my interior is dismentled and i can directly fit new material on the interior side of the body of the car.
i have attached photos of my beloved disco1, before and now!
i apreciate your help.

My car was fully sound proofed when I bought it but what I did do was fit pieces of Code 6 lead to all the thin panels to stop them vibrating, It worked.
Just glued the lead in place with building adhesive.
If you have the car stripped it would be worth the effort and expense of sound proofing it.

You can get sheets of the tecnical (expensive) sound proofing stuff and cut to shape for the firewall and the floor just google vehicle sound proofing materials.
Wow, lots of snow in your pic and your steering wheel is on the 'wrong' side so where are you in the world.
:) And WELCOME to the Forum
hey discool! thank you for your welcoming! and yes, for us here, the steering wheel is on the correct side! i live in Beirut Lebanon. the other photo is in a mountain nearby my city like 45 minutes driving, we have a lot of snow during the winter season. And by the way there is sound proofing in the car but i dont think it is enough! i think they left alot of untreated points!
by the way i would like to ask you if i need some parts not available here could you help me?
