Hi everyone, I originally subscribed some time ago [OK a couple of years]. Soon after I subscribed I ended up working abroad for a time so although I have lurked a bit I never got around to posting anything. So now I'm back for a bit I thought I better introduce myself and my Disco.
I'm 40 something and retire next year with a plan to buy an early landrover and do a chassis up rebuild - a bit ambitious as I don't have much mechanical experience - I'm not bad on the theory but haven't done much hands on rebuilding or mechanics.
My current landrover is a Disco II which has been subtly modified. It has an engine chip, OME +2" shocks and springs, diff and steering guards, BFG MT's and BFG AT's, tree sliders, retro fitted diff lock, ARB winch bumper and Warn XD9000 winch on the front, steel rear bumper with a receiver tray with a XD9000i winch on it, front and rear anderson sockets and a Safari raised air intake. It's got a full Patriot roof rack. I've done a few minor changes as well such as removing the EGR pipe and valve, K&N air filter, fitted cruise control and a self dipping rear view mirror, Sat Nav, and built a fitted storage unit in the boot.
I've probably forgotten a few things but I've owned her for 6 years and I have been tinkering since day one. Minor things I have done myself, the rest has been done by a local specialist LR dealer so please excuse the silly questions I am bound to ask.
