Hi, newbie here!
I have just joined to find out some options on my V8 Disco II. I was driving along when I moved about in my seat only to notice the oil warning light was on, due to the way I sit I cant see it from my normal position for some reason. I have no idea how long it had been on for but I reckon it was about 5 minutes. I was just pulling over when a loud rattling noise started from under the bonnet. I presume its big ends plus loads of other stuff that could be wrong.
My feeling is that rather than take it out and start pulling it appart to check it all over a reconditioned engine would be a better option, however I am not sure where to go to get a reputable one.
I am also looking for a reliable person to undertake the job - most local mechanics dont seem very keen to take it on for some reason! I live near Tonbridge, Kent.
If anyone could give me some advice then I will be most welcome.
