Hello all,

Just bought a Discovery II V8 Auto with the combined SatNav/Radio/CD (Navisys) and I'm having trouble with the radio code. I've managed to get what I believe is the correct code from the dealer who sold me the vehicle (the one written in the book was a digit short) but the unit will not accept it full stop.

At the moment it is sat there with "Enter Code Number" flashing and no button will function.

Before posting this I checked out the other threads about radio code problems but none of them seemed to cover this exact situation. The word "Code" is supposed to appear, I believe, if the wrong code is entered and then "Wait" for 60 minutes if it is entered incorrectly 3 times but neither of these have appeared at all.

I've disconnected the battery a couple of times and also had the ignition on at position 1 (Aux) for more than an hour but the unit remains in the same stubborn state...."computer says no"....

Does any body have any ideas how to rectify this before I drop it back into the dealers lap (non-LR dealer, by the way)?

Kind regards

Varnish:)

Have you tried a reset of the software?

Press either button 1 or 3, + TP simultaneously.

Then try to enter the code again.

Tried that too but without success. Thanks though.

I've had the ignition at pos 1 for 2.5 hours this morning and it's still just flashing "Enter Code Number". I then disconnected and re-connected the battery but still nothing. I'm beginning to wonder whether this is going to need some sort of factory reset!?

The workshop manual doesn't give instructions for resetting the code, but intriguingly says that the radio is rendered unusable if disconnected without first de-activating the security feature.

I've done a screen dump of the page, see the bit in the middle re the code.

Thanks with all the advice, but no longer an issue now as the dealer has put in a new unit for me (the old one was kaput in the end)...well I say not an issue, the new unit is a Blaupunkt Radio/satnav (works great, nice piece of kit) and as such is incompatible with the factory fitted cd changer, steering wheel remote and the aftermarket bluetooth kit that's fitted...what joy I'm having!!!

I think I have some fixes but all suggestions greatfully accepted.
