Hi,I have recently changed the front downpipe on my disco for a de-cat system which works wounders,i was also looking at keeping the centre box and doing away with the rear box and having a side exit exhaust coming out of the rear panel behind the mudflap until yesterday when the rear of the centre exhaust snapped away and is now blowing.I have been looking at craddocks sport exhaust which as a straight centre pipe and a rear silencer, does anyone have one of these fitted with or without a cat on the front pipe and if so is it a bit loud,if not as any one made a homemade exhaust and if so where did you get the parts and do you have photos? Many thanks

Depends on where you live....In the South of England there is a place that will modify your exhaust pipe using existing flanges/hangers etc.
They did mine with all the existing exhaust apart from a small section they had to weld on mid way (Where middle baffle was) and at the end section,(Where end baffel was) they even bent the pipe up so it hugged the back of the car and exited just below the rear bumper.
I kept the cat, but do not have any baffles at all (Neat under side, nothing to snag when off roading).
From inside the car, the noise is not excessive, slight droan on accelaration, sounds fruity from outside but again not excessive.
Definately gives low end grunt when off road, or pulling away at junctions, have recently checked fuel consumption and average about 25 miles per gallon (Could get more if driving carefully) so I would say about the same as before.

i took the cat and the middle box out on my discovery and that sounded really nice for a diesel!

HI,I live in leeds so the south of england for an exhaust is going a bit of a distance but like the sound of your exhaust.Might try to see if there is someone closer to home to do the job, then again if a straight through pipe with just a backbox is as good and not to loud i might stay with this idea but i was really after the exhaust coming out of the rear panel.I was considering cutting the exhaust at the front of the centre box (as the pipe as snapped off at the rear)and joining in a cherry bomb silencer then joining an other piece of pipe on and fabricating it up and over and out off the side so it is not in the way when offroading. How does this sound to all you disco folk?

Have a look at Paddocks TDi 300 sports exhaust - straight-thru centre section plus tailpipe and box, all for £35+vat.
I tried one on my TDi 300 auto, made a bit of difference, but not as much as the de-catt downpipe.
