I have recently purchased Discoveries Series II 2001 model. ABS, TC and downhill warning light turns on usually when I press brake turning the wheel or going down slope. It goes off automatically when I switch off the engine and switch it on again. I would appreciate if someone can light on this problem. Is this a serious problem? Do I need to repair urgently?

Hi Rajendra, welcome to the forum. I suspect that your fault could be with one of the front wheel ABS sensors. I had similar symptoms a while ago and ended up replacing a sensor to fix it. You could try cleaning and checking that the sensor is properly positioned and undamaged. As with anything connected to the brakes it isn't worth taking the risk of not fixing it as soon as possible. When the lights are illuminated the ECU disables ETC, TC and your ABS so it will not stop or handle as well if you need to stop suddenly when they are illuminated. Regards - Phil.
