New cylinder head

Hi All,

I had a new cylinder head fitted on my td5 a few days ago and already have a oil leak .. I think it is coming from just below the half moon at the top rear of the cylinder head.. Going through the rave cd and feeling at the back, I think they did not fit the rear plastic cam cover, without this fitted would it cause a oil leak.????

Possibly, but in any event take it back for rectification.

Think you are talking about the small [ish] acoustic cover at the back of the head.
Very difficult to get head back on with this in place- and cannot be fitted after. If missing- would not cause an oil leak.

I agree that leak is likely to be the half round on the back of the cam cover. Rave/Haynes reckon on a small bead of sealant on the corners.
