Hi All,

Ok I have had some radiator trouble with my 98 Discovery V8i Auto and whilst I have been getting a new one sorted it has been stood for about 3 weeks, now when I am driving there is a bit of vibration when Im using the brakes on the brake pedal.

I wasn't sure if it was a bit of dirt or rust that has gathered on the disc whilst she has been stood.

I have attached a picture of the brakes whilst the wheel is still on, I know this has to be a pretty daft question but do they look ok, or does anyone have any thaughts on what could be causing the vibration.

Thanks very much

John

You're bound to get rusting on the discs, more so with alloy wheels which tend to let more weather in.

Should clear after a few miles, unless you have a sticking caliper.

Hi,

Final Update, it was the front brake pads, they had worn down just about to the metal, one of the pads were actually on the metal and I think that is what was causing the vibration.

I have run the car for about 30 miles now and the vibration has stopped and its amazing the braking seems to be much better lol.

The pads cost me £18.00 from my local Moto Save.

Thanks again for the advise.

John
