Brake light problems... any advice please

Hi all,

My brake light keeps coming on, staying on for a bit, flashing off and on, then staying on for a few minutes and then back to flashing on and off. (It's the 'proper' brake light not the three amigos). It looks a bit like an electrical problem but am I being a bit too optimistic? I checked the fluid level and it's sitting just below minimum - could that cause it?

I'm a mechanical/technical numpty so please bear that in mind!!

Yep - you're right... Topped it up with brake fluid and it's OK now...

Told you I was a numpty!
