Are you sure you have the right ones for your vehicle?

We've looked at some for a Disco 2, don't NEED them, but they do enhance the appearance.

As far as I know, they are self-adhesive and just stick on top of the regular paintwork, but you'll need to degrease that pretty well or ther adhesive will pull away fairly quickly.

As well as cleaning the area they are to be fitted, the rubbing strips need to be warmed before applying with a hot air gun or hair dryer, once fitted do not wash the car for 24 hours.

I use meths to degrease before fitting almost anything.
When I fitted some rubbing strips to a car recently I ran a line of masking tape along beforehand as a guide. The top edge of the masking tape was set up as the line for the bottom of the rubbing strips. You can play with the masking tape until you get things right, then apply the strips and pull off the tape.

Well as least she gets a day of cleaning your land rover as compensation.
